UNION COUNTY – The Oregon Ways and Means committee, responsible for determining state budget policy and allocating state funding to various projects, will meet in Ontario April 28. This meeting will cover testimony for numerous projects and funding proposals for the Eastern Oregon region, including House Bill 2635. For those unfamiliar, 2635, as stated by the Oregon State Legislature, “appropriates moneys from General Fund to Oregon Department of Administrative Services for distribution to Union County Fair Association for purpose of water and sewer improvements to Union County Fairgrounds.” 1 million dollars specifically will be allocated under the bill.
Those interested in the project, or other Eastern Oregon proposals, can attend in person from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Four Rivers Cultural Center, 676 SW 5th Ave. Ontario. Public testimony and livestream links can be found at Ways and Means Joint 2023 Regular Session – Oregon Legislative Information System (oregonlegislature.gov).
