Union County approves service rate increase for Union Sanitation

UNION โ€“ During a regular commission meeting on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the Union County Board of Commissioners officially approved a 2.7% service fee increase for Union Sanitation, Resolution 2025-05. According to information presented to the commissioners, the requested rate increase was due in part to the Baker Landfill raising its disposal fee, with county commissioners also having approved a rate increase for Waste Pro on January 22nd. The new rate pricing for Union Sanitationโ€™s routes (as also presented to commissioners) is as follows:

Union Route

  • 42 Gallon roll cart per week: $27.21/Month.
  • 68 Gallon roll cart per week: $32.26/Month.
  • 96 Gallon roll cart per week: $37.32/Month.
  • Once a month pickup 42 gallon can: $14.25.
  • 20 yard boxes: $122.55, plus mileage, and $81.25 a ton
  • Demurrage after the 6th day is $6.50 per day that will be charged on drop boxes and containers.

North Powder Route

  • 42 Gallon roll cart per week: $29.04/Month.
  • 68 Gallon roll cart per week: $34.09/Month.
  • 96 Gallon roll cart per week: $39.15/Month.
  • Once a month pickup 42 gallon can: $14.25.
  • 20 yard boxes: $122.55, plus mileage, and $81.25 a ton.
  • Demurrage after the 6th day is $6.50 per day that will be charged on drop boxes and containers.

*Services in rural areas may be charged additional mileage.
