UNION COUNTY – $28,678 was raised during the 4-hour Union County 4H Radio Auction on Saturday, the highest amount ever brought in during this event. The second highest year was in 2017 when a total of $27,728 was made. The annual auction is held each year to raise money for 4H kids in Union County. This is the only fundraiser that the kids hold each year.
Each year Elkhorn Media Group opens their office in La Grande as well as the microphone on 104.7 KCMB to hold a fast and furious auction filled with items ranging from gift baskets to homemade goods to changes of drawing hunting tags. The auction has evolved over the years from a two-day event to a one day 4-hour event. This year had a total of 470 auction items available up for bid.
