LA GRANDE – (Information from the Union County 4-H) Union County 4-H agent Carole Smith received the Distinguished Service Award from Epsilon Sigma Phi at the annual 4-H Extension Conference. A twenty-three-year veteran of 4-H extension work, Carole works as part of 4-H Civic Engagement, 4-H Youth Development and is the Coordinator for the International Exchange Program.
Reflecting on her achievement, Carole noted:“It was a real honor to get the award. It highlighted the years that I’ve been a 4-H agent. To get the award you have to have been working in extensions for quite a few years and had to have received some previous award to qualify. It was a nice honor and I appreciate receiving it.”
