LA GRANDE- The airwaves were buzzing this past weekend as the annual Union County 4-H Radio Auction took over 104.7 KCMB, proving once again that community spirit remains the backbone of local youth programs.
By the time the last bid was cast, the event had raised an impressive $33,132.
The auction reached a fever pitch in its closing moments. Listeners and bidders were glued to their radios during what organizers described as a “nail-biter” finish. There was palpable excitement in the studio as the tally approached last year’s historic, all-time record. While the final total ultimately fell just $1,000 short of that record-breaking mark, the energy and generosity displayed by the community made the event an undeniable success.
“The support we see year after year is incredible,” on-air talent noted, expressing gratitude for the donors and bidders who stepped up.
The funds raised are vital for the region’s youth. Every dollar of the money raised will go directly toward supporting Union County 4-H programs throughout the upcoming year. These programs provide local children and teens with hands-on learning experiences in agriculture, leadership, science, and civic engagement.
For those who participated or wish to see the final impact of the event, more information can be found at the official auction site: 2026unioncounty4h.afrogs.org.
As another successful auction goes into the books, the real winners remain the 4-H members who will benefit from a community that continues to invest in their future.
