Unhoused female damages several police car windows

Ontario (Released by Ontario Police Department)-A local transient, Theresa Marie West, age 38, entered the police department parking lot and damaged seven (7) Ontario Police Department parked patrol vehicles. The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m., August 27, 2023. Ms. West removed landscaping bricks on or near city property and began throwing them at patrol cars. Ms. West continued throwing rocks at a nearby business building (B&B Printing), which caused similar damage. She then called Malheur County Dispatch to report her own actions.

Following a short foot pursuit, Ms. West complied with officer commands and was arrested without incident. Her behavior was erratic, she was sweating profusely, and she was screaming about bugs both being on her and biting her, she admitted to recent Psilocybin mushroom ingestion. Ms. West was transported to a local hospital and cleared by medical personnel, and later lodged on seven (7) counts of Criminal Mischief 1 at Malheur County Jail.

Currently, property damage (windows and body) repair costs are unknown, but early estimates suggest more that $15,000.00.
