Umatilla School District students will once again have free breakfast and lunch for 2026-27 school year

UMATILLA – The Umatilla School District will once again participate in the Community Eligibility Provision, allowing all enrolled students to receive free breakfast and lunch during the upcoming school year.

Students in the district and their families do not need to submit an application or take further action to receive the meals.

The Community Eligibility Provision operates under the National School Lunch Act, which President Harry S. Truman signed into law in 1946. Participating schools receive program funding based on data from sources such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

Districts must redetermine their eligibility every four years.
