UMATILLA COUNTY — (Release & Photo from the Umatilla Fire Protection District) Umatilla Fire responded to and was dispatched to a reported brush fire in the area of 27000 block of Highway 730 in Umatilla.
The first arriving unit reported several structures fully involved, a fast-moving brush fire, and evacuations in progress.
The fire is currently estimated at approximately 10 acres. Acreage will be updated as better mapping becomes available.
Mutual aid resources were requested from Boardman Fire & Rescue, Irrigon Fire District, Umatilla County Fire District #1, Pendleton Fire, and Echo Fire.
The fire has since been contained and crews are currently in mop-up operations, which will continue overnight.
At this time, no injuries have been reported.
