UMATILLA – Jessenia Carrillo is appointed to serve as the city of Umatilla’s first communication and outreach specialist. Carrillo has a background in education and community engagement.
She was a health teacher at Hermiston High School and has worked as an aide at the Umatilla Public Library. During that time she gained experience in program development and community engagement skills.
“We are so very excited to have Jessenia take on this very important role for our community,” Umatilla City Manager Dave Stockdale said. “As our community continues to experience historic growth, our need to communicate thoroughly and effectively becomes ever more important to ensure well-managed and strategic growth of Umatilla.”
Carrillo holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Eastern Oregon University. Stockdale said she will be crucial in helping community members interact and engage with the city.
