Umatilla County 911 lines down; emergency calls rerouted to Morrow County

PENDLETON — Emergency 911 lines are down at the Umatilla County Regional Dispatch Center, forcing officials to reroute emergency calls to neighboring Morrow County.
Technicians are working to identify and resolve the issue at the dispatch center, located at 4700 NW Pioneer Place in Pendleton.
Despite the outage, officials said Text-to-911 remains functional and is being received locally. The dispatch center’s standard business lines also continue to accept incoming calls.
Under the agency’s emergency operations plan, Morrow County is processing the rerouted 911 calls. Because both agencies share the same Computer Aided Dispatch system, Morrow County dispatchers can enter call details directly into the network. Local Umatilla County dispatchers can view the information in real time to deploy emergency responders without delay.
