Umatilla and Morrow counties benefit from Wildhorse Foundation grants

MISSION – The Wildhorse Foundation, a community fund managed by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in partnership with Wildhorse Resort & Casino, has announced its grant awards for the fourth quarter of 2025. Several of the beneficiaries are from Umatilla and Morrow counties.

In addition to that, the revitalization project for the Walla Walla Public Library received one of the largest grants totaling $30,000. A separate article about that project is also posted on this website.

The grants given ranged from $2,000 to $30,000. They are given in the areas of public health, public safety, arts, education, environmental protection, cultural activities, and salmon restoration. The awards total $353,606. A dozen of the awardees are from Umatilla and Morrow counties. They are, in alphabetical order:

Blue Mountain Community College, Pendleton, for the Spring Celebration Powwow $5,500

Boardman Fire Rescue District, Boardman, $30,000 for a helicopter landing pad

Cat Utopia, Pendleton, spay, neuter, and rescue transport van $12,000

Echo Heritage Association, Echo, Protecting Echo’s treasured resources involving cultural heritage or research, $7,876

Historical Rivoli Theater Performing Arts Center Restoration Coalition, Pendleton, phase two construction. $30,000

Intermountain Education Service District, Pendleton, “Playworks,” the power of play, $11,600.

Milton-Freewater Valley Ambulance District, Milton-Freewater, updated radios, $15,000

Pacific Northwest Veterans Alliance, Hermiston, Eastern Oregon Veterans Emergency Assistance Project – Rapid Response & Stabilization, $20,000

Pendleton Cultural Foundation, Pendleton, 2026 Sister City Cultural Exchange $2,000

St. Mary’s Outreach, Pendleton, outreach vehicle replacement, $10,000

Umatilla Tribal Police Department, Mission, UTPD K9, $15,750
