PENDLETON – Umatilla County Emergency Dispatch will be undergoing a third-party assessment. Sheriff Terry Rowan says that the subscribing agencies to the service have shown support in having that done.
“We are having a third party come in and take a look at our operation, make sure that we’re being efficient with what we do have, and then make recommendations for staffing as we move ahead,” he said.
Rowan said the decision was made after a search of companies performing such a service. A company has been selected and scheduling a visit is underway. Rowan did not mention a specific date.
“I know our stakeholders, our partner agencies, are very much in favor of having this assessment done,” he said. “We settled with a particular company who, hopefully, in the near future will be on site to begin that process.”
