PENDLETON, Oregon – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with the Father’s Day stabbing at McKay Reservoir. Quinn Patrick Countryman, 25, of Weston is charged with two felonies: second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of tampering with physical evidence.

UCSO received a call the night of June 16 from St. Anthony Hospital reporting a 21-year-old man was in the emergency room with a possible stab wound to his left hand. The responding deputy learned the man had been taken to the hospital by friends. He was then air lifted to a Spokane area hospital for surgery.

The investigation uncovered that the victim had been at the reservoir in a group of about 15 to 20 people when an argument broke out between the injured man and Countryman. A physical altercation ensued and Countryman is alleged to have used a knife to assault the victim.
