HERMISTON – An alleged porch pirate in Hermiston is facing a number of felony and misdemeanor charges in Umatilla County Jail. Jacob Richard Mack, 27, is also a person of interest in cases from the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Terry Rowan said he considers it likely that more charges will be filed against Mack while he is in custody.
“It just depends on if everything can be put together in a timely fashion,” he said. “Even if not, the case will continue to be worked.”
Hermiston Police Chief Jason Edmiston said at the time of Mack’s arrest that the suspect has been very active since December 2021.
“His name has been popping up multiple times during each shift, so he clearly has decided his path,” Edmiston said. “Now, hopefully, he remains in custody long enough for everybody to put their investigations together and get him charged accordingly.”
Rowan said whether Mack is released from jail or not, his detectives will continue to work the cases against him.
