UCSO arrests man for threatening family

HELIX – Umatilla County Emergency Dispatch received a call Tuesday night that a man was extremely intoxicated and was walking around their Helix residence pointing a firearm at family members. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded, backed up by Oregon State Police.

When law enforcement arrived at the home on the 300 block of Cleveland Street, they took Cody Daniel Phillips, 24, into custody. UCSO Capt. Sterrin Ward said a pistol and ammunition were seized at the scene.

Phillips is charged with one felony, unlawful use of a weapon. He also faces misdemeanor charges of menacing, pointing a firearm at another, and reckless endangering.
