HERMISTON – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Dakota Grant Thurmond for first-degree burglary and other charges after two incidents at 32458 E. Loop Road, Hermiston. An initial report of a trespass and burglary was received Thursday at about 11:45 a.m.
The reporting party said the suspect had been evicted and trespassed from the property. UCSO Capt. Paul Wolverton said deputies found that Thurmond broke into the residence and damaged property. He then fled the area.
UCSO received a second report the following morning that Thurmond had returned. Deputies responded and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was lodged at Umatilla County Jail.
In addition to first-degree burglary, Thurmond is charged with criminal mischief and trespassing. He also faces an additional trespassing charge for the incident the day before.
