UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners plans to hold a public hearing on a revised ATV ordinance proposal at its meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9 a.m. This is the second reading after changes were made following a discussion on Nov. 5.

The proposed ordinance is attached to the agenda for the meeting with the changes highlighted in yellow. The agenda is posted at Agendas – Umatilla County.

The county roads designated for use by all-terrain vehicles are two-lane gravel county roads, paved county roads with speed limits of 40 miles per hour or less, and county roads bearing appropriate signage. However, there are more limits to which county roads are included. They must be to the east of Highway 11 and Highway S. 395 (Pendleton to Nye Junction), and south of Highway 74. It also excludes any roads on the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

The meeting is in Room 130 of the Umatilla County Courthouse in Pendleton.
