PENDLETON – DelMar Aerospace’s Volatus Group will soon add a valuable tool to the courses it offers at the Pendleton UAS Test Range in association with Blue Mountain Community College and industry partners. DelMar has reached an agreement with Censys Technologies to name the Pendleton center as one of its OEM-certified trainers on Sentaero UAS.
Sentaero UAS is used by commercial, government, and education customers throughout the country. Its capabilities in both visual line of sight and the rapidly-growing beyond visual line of sight operational arenas make it ideal for training students for roles in the UAS industry. Under the agreement, Volatus will provide initial and advanced training to certify Sentaero operators for corporate and government jobs. It will also be used as part of the growing UAS program at BMCC.
“This is a major milestone for Volatus, BMCC, and the Pendleton UAS Range,” BMCC President Mark browning said. “Beyond visual line of sight training will expand so many opportunities for our students and, in turn, our local and regional businesses. This is the future, and it’s happening here in Eastern Oregon.”
The college is a partner in the Federal Aviation Administration’s UAS Collegiate training Initiative and is currently offering UAS operator development courses.
