HARPER, OR – UPDATE: U.S. 20 is now open to all traffic near milepost 217, 6 miles west of Harper. The highway was closed around 8 a.m. after a truck crashed into the bridge at this site. Inspections have determined the bridge is structurally sound, with some railing damage. Please drive with extra caution and watch for crews who may be working in the area.
PREVIOUS: (Release by ODOT) Use alternate route, no turn around or local detour at closureU.S. 20 is closed both directions to all traffic near mile post 217, 6 miles west of Harper, due to a truck that crashed into a bridge. There is no detour or turn around near the closure. Use alternate routes. Signs will be posted in Vale, Juntura and Burns advising of the full closure. The highway is expected to be closed most of the day (five hours or longer if significant damage to the bridge is discovered by our bridge inspectors).
