U.S. 26 between Mitchell and Prineville reopens at 9 a.m. Thursday

MITCHELL / PRINEVILLE – (Release from the Oregon Dept. of Transporation)
After a lengthy closure due to wildfire and firefighting operations, U.S. 26 between Prineville and Mitchell will fully reopen at 9 a.m. today, Thursday. Fire crews will continue working along the highway, so please slow down, move over and give them plenty of space so they can work safely. Wildfire conditions can change quickly, and travelers should expect smoke and reduced visibility in the area.
