UPDATE: U.S. 12 reopened between Dixie and Waitsburg

UPDATE 8/12/2025 AT 3:11 PM: The Washington State Department of Transportation reports U.S. 12 is now open following a log truck accident that blocked both lanes between Dixie and Waitsburg earlier today (Tuesday).
UPDATE 8/12/2025 AT 1:22 P.M.: The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office says the closure is due to a log truck rolling over and blocking both lanes, they say they believe there are no serious injuries as a result.
They advise using an alternate route.
WALLA WALLA COUNTY – U.S. Highway 12 between Dixie and Waitsburg is closed due to a collision.
Eastbound traffic is stopped at mile post 350 near Lewis Peak Road, and westbound traffic is stopped at mile post 357 near Meinburg Road in Waitsburg.
There is no estimated time of reopening, we’ll post more information as it becomes available.
