WALLA WALLA – With fire season getting underway, Walla Walla County Emergency Management invites the public to attend one of the two fire-wise meetings being held this week from 6 to 7 p.m. in Walla Walla and Dixie.
The first meeting is tonight (Wednesday) at Walla Walla County Fire District No. 4’s Station 45, 6549 Mill Creek Road. The second meeting will be held tomorrow night (Thursday) at Walla Walla County Fire District No. 8’s station off U.S. 12 in Dixie.
The meetings will cover the significant wildland fire potential outlook and what action homeowners can take to make their residence safer from wildfire. Officials will also give updates on the hazard mitigation grant for fuels reduction, U.S. Forest Service mitigation projects, and wildfire evacuation procedures.
