Two teens killed in vehicle crash near Kennewick

KENNEWICK – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office reports two teenage girls riding in a vehicle passed away due to their injuries following a collision Friday night south of Kennewick.

Deputies responded to an area of East Homestead Road off of Badger Road at 9:20 p.m. for a single vehicle crash. The driver lost control of the car, which went off the road into a ravine.

Six female occupants were in the car ranging in age from 15 to 17 years old. Four of the occupants survived the crash with injuries, two died due to their injuries. No further details on the survivors were released.

The investigation suggests speed and unfamiliarity with the location were contributing factors for the crash.
