JOHN DAY – A couple of small wildfires were contained over the weekend, according to information from wildcad.net. On July 2nd, the Seagull Rock Fire was reported burning in grass. Oregon Department of Forestry resources responded. It grew to approximately 5.9 acres and was reported contained and controlled later that evening.
On July 3rd, wildcad.net shows Malheur National Forest resources responded to the Dugout Fire, burning in grass, brush, duff and timber. It was controlled by 4:22 p.m. yesterday and grew to 1.5 acres. A location description was not listed for either fire.
