Two separate wolf attacks in Wallowa County kill seven sheep & one calf

WALLOWA COUNTY – The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) has confirmed two recent wolf depredations in Wallowa County. One incident occurred on April 25 in the Lostine area on private land within the Sled Springs Wolf Management Unit. The attack killed one ewe and six one-month-old lambs. The responsible wolf or wolves remain unidentified at this time.

Additionally, another recent depredation was confirmed on April 22, 2024, in the Grouse Flats area of Wallowa County, also on private land. This incident involved the death of a month-old calf and has been attributed to the Grouse Flats Pack.
