PENDLETON – Two more suspects in a robbery and kidnapping case that started at the Rugged Country Lodge in Pendleton last month have been extradited to the Umatilla County Jail. Anthony Len Haigh, 26, of Stanfield and Deva Lorraine Marthaller, 25, of Pendleton were arrested by Walla Walla police on April 7.
Area law enforcement had been alerted to a warrant for their arrest when a secret indictment was issued by a Umatilla County grand jury. They were taken into custody at the Travel Lodge.
The pair face multiple felony charges including first-degree and second-degree robbery, theft, and second-degree kidnapping. Marthaller is being held on $500,000 bail and Haigh’s bail is set at $250,000.
Pendleton’s SWAT Team had already taken two other suspects into custody on March 30. Tyler James Schachtsick, 32, of Pendleton has the highest bail in the case at $1,115,000. Bail for Whitney Ann Anderson, 26, of Pendleton is being held on $695,000 bond.
At the time of the first arrests, Police Chief Chuck Byram said the four suspects assaulted a Pendleton resident in a motel room and robbed him. After that, it’s alleged the victim was transported to and dropped off at an area along Highway 37. He managed to walk to a residence and get help.
