Two people taken to hospital following house fire

FINLEY – Two people were transported to a local hospital Sunday night for possible smoke inhalation following a house fire on Yew Street. Firefighters responded at 7:40 p.m. to a single-story wood frame home that was fully involved.

No other nearby structures were burned, but the home was a total loss. The owner stated he did not have homeowner’s insurance, according to Benton County Fire District No. 1 Captain Ron Fryer.

A total of 15 fire engines with approximately 30 firefighters responded.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
