GRANT COUNTY – The ODFW’s Livestock Depredation documents released Friday show that two more bovine livestock specimens, a two-month-old calf and a yearling, have been killed—possibly by wolves.
On Tuesday, May 16th, a dead two-month-old calf was found on private property near Luce Creek, out of John Day. The cause of death is listed a possible wolf depredation/unknown. Sheriff Todd McKinley issued a press release regarding a wolf sighted in that same area the following morning. Find it below:
On Saturday, May 13th, a dead yearling was found on private property near the Middle Fork of the John Day River. That’s the third reported instance of possible depredation this month on the Middle Fork.
