UMATILLA COUNTY – Two more people have been charged in a burglary and vandalism at a large onion storage facility on Walls Road earlier this month. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office took Maria Anita Price and Jonathan Price into custody in Irrigon Tuesday on an arrest warrant from the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office.
They are both charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree aggravated theft, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy. The same charges have been filed against Michael Don Norman who was arrested by the Umatilla Police Department the week before.
“This case involves a large amount of damage and stolen property,” UCSO Capt. Sterrin Ward wrote in an email. “(It’s) estimated between $500,000 and $1 million of property was either stolen or damaged, including AC units, electrical panel boxes, wiring, safety switches, and copper pipes.”
The Prices were released on their own recognizance from jail the morning after they were arrested. The sheriff’s office was informed that the district attorney’s office was not ready to file formal charges. They were ordered to appear in court at a set date.
