PENDLETON – Work on one low-income housing project is underway in Pendleton, while another should start next summer. Public Works Director Bob Patterson said Wildflower Apartments is making progress off Tutuilla Road.
“They’re doing the foundations now,” he said. “The retaining walls are up. We’re starting to see the layout of the buildings.”
Patterson said that when finished, Wildflower will have 80 units. Meanwhile, 70 units will be added when the Horizon Projects housing is completed.
“We’re moving into the permit phase and review into the spring, and then they’re hoping to start construction in the summer of 2022,” Patterson said.
Horizon Project plans to build South Hill Commons on Franklin Grade Road in southeast Pendleton. It will consist of apartments as well as a group home for developmentally disabled adults.
