BAKER CITY – (Release from Baker City) On March 22, 2023, employees at the Little Pig restaurant at 3685 10th Street reported to the Baker City Police, a break-in to their extension building located behind their main building. Suspects had made entry into the building, removed small items left inside the building from last season’s use and then hid the items behind this same building. Suspect/s caused damage to the extension building, forcefully breaking their way out of the building they had initially entered without damage.
On March 23, 2023, OSP Troopers, who were meeting at the Little Pig, were notified by employees present, of two suspicious persons that were now walking around the same building broken into the previous day.
The OSP Troopers went outside and contacted the two males whom Little Pig employees saw walking around their extension building. During this contact, OSP Trooper/s found drug evidence on one of the juveniles and after initially getting a false date of birth from the second male, learned the second male was a listed Runaway Juvenile from Baker City.
Baker City Police responded and interviewed both juveniles. Baker City Police determined that both juveniles had taken part in the previous day’s burglary to the extension building. The two juveniles were both charged with Burglary II and Criminal Mischief II.
This is still an ongoing and active investigation with the possibility of additional arrests and criminal charges.
