Two injured in crash west of Touchet, charges pending

WALLA WALLA COUNTY – The Washington State Patrol reports Luke M. Elliott, 27, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi was injured, along with his passenger, Katherine M. Laurenson, 24, of Sterling, Virginia, early Thursday morning on U.S. 12, five miles west of Touchet.

Troopers said Elliott was traveling westbound at 3:41 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and his vehicle left the roadway. Both Elliott and Laurenson were transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. No further details were disclosed about their condition or injuries.

The 2025 Nissan Sentra that Elliott was driving was totaled.

WSP said drugs or alcohol were a factor and that charges are pending against the accident. The cause of the injury collision is under investigation.
