HERMISTON – Hermiston police were responding to a call about a dispute at 1150 S. Highway 395. Police Chief Jason Edmiston said the officers encountered Aaron Campos, 23, who was wanted on failure to appear warrants and had run from officers last week. The two responding officers were injured.
“(Campos) was out of control, like a wildcat,” Edmiston wrote in an email. “Both officers deployed Tasers, but he kept fighting.”
Edmiston said both the male and female officers were injured during the incident. One suffered what the chief said was a serious shoulder injury while the other has a strained back.
“He fought for several minutes before being restrained,” Edmiston wrote.
In addition to the two outstanding warrants, Campos is charged with two counts of resisting arrest, felony assault of a public safety officer, and third-degree escape. His bail is set at $56,200.
