Two flag memorials to honor those lost during 9-11

LA GRANDE – It’s been 20-years since 9-11 and to honor the victims of the attacks, 4,396 flags will be displayed in Island City and in La Grande. To honor the victim of the 9-11 attacks, 2,996 flags will be displayed at Island Avenue and Walton Road. To honor the first responders, 1,400 flags will be displayed at the La Grande Fire Department. The placing of the flags will be September 10th. Donations are being accepted to help pay for the flags and volunteers are being sought to help set up the display.
