WALLOWA COUNTY — In yet another incident that has raised concerns among local ranchers, an unknown wolf or wolves have been confirmed to have killed two ewes in the Sled Springs Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) in Wallowa County. The attack occurred on June 3, 2024, on private land in the Swamp Creek area.
The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) confirmed the attack, which marks another instance of wolf-related livestock depredation in the region. The identity of the wolves involved in the attack remains unknown at this time.
