Two Baker City Students Trade and Lineman Scholarships Through OTEC

BAKER CITY – (Information from Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative) OTEC have announced that two Baker City students, Campbell Vanderwiele and David Shaw have earned scholarships to help them enter the trades. Vanderwiele will receive $2,500 in scholarships to attend trade school while Shaw will receive $5,000 in scholarships to help enter a career as a lineman. In the official release, President of the OTEC Member Foundation Board Charlene Chase commented the following:

“OTEC and the OTEC Member Foundation are proud and committed to supporting the educational goals of our local students and giving back to the communities we serve. These scholarship opportunities to support our local students’ career pathways in the invaluable trades and utility industries, and the others OTEC provides, are another way we can add to that effort.”
