BAKER COUNTY – Oregon State Police in Baker County conducted a traffic stop on Campbell St and 3rd Street in Baker City earlier this week that ended in arrests. According to the OSP Officer, multiple signs of impairment were observed, and the driver consented to a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST). The driver, 21-year-old Gage Michael Niehaus of Baker City performed poorly during the SFST and was subsequently arrested for DUII.
A search of the vehicle yielded meth (violation).
The passenger, 23-year-old Sean Michael Dethloff of Baker City, consented to a search and meth (violation) was seized.
Niehaus was transported to the Baker County Jail; providing a breath BAC sample of .00%, a urine sample and refused a DRE. He was cited for DUII-CS (controlled substance), DWS-Violation (Driving while Suspended), and PCS-Meth (Possession of a Controlled Substance).
Dethloff was cited for PCS-Meth (Violation).
