Two arrested on drug charges and more after traffic stop

BAKER COUNTY – Two individuals were arrested by Oregon State Police (OSP) in Baker County recently on multiple chares including drug possession.  According to reports, OSP stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 7 and David Eccles.  The officer observed multiple signs of impairment.  

The vehicle was stopped and the driver, 44-year-old Jason L. Troyer, consented to a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST).  Troyer was arrested for DUII.  A search of the vehicle yielded Meth, Heroin, a firearm and other unlawful weapon.  

The passenger, 23-year-old Makayla Paige Lafferty was arrested by citation for PCS-Meth, PCS-Heroin, and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.  Troyer was transported to the Baker County Jail where he provided a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .00%, a urine sample and refused a DRE.  Troyer was arrested by citation for DUII-Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance (PCS) Meth, Possession of a Weapon by Felon and Possession of Firearm by Felon.
