KENNEWICK – Two people were arrested Monday in connection to the shooting death of Ezekiel Sanchez, 25, of Kennewick. Sanchez was dropped off at a local hospital on Wednesday, April 20, with a gunshot wound and was determined deceased when investigating officers arrived.
On Monday, the Kennewick Police Department announced detectives obtained probable cause to arrest Ramon Candido, 26, and Beatriz Terrazas, 23 after they were seen driving the suspect vehicle. Both were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Benton County Jail.
Candido was booked for the alleged crime of second-degree murder. Terrazas was booked for the alleged crime of first-degree rendering criminal assistance.
The suspect vehicle was seized as evidence and a search warrant was served at an address in the 300 block of South Kellogg Street. According to detectives, the victim was shot at South Dayton Street and West First Avenue in Kennewick last Wednesday. Information gathered from the preliminary investigation said possibly two vehicles were involved in last week’s shooting. One of those vehicles was around West Fifth Avenue and South Washington Street. Upon seeing police, a male passenger exited the vehicle and ran into a residence leaving a female driver and small child in the vehicle. Additional law enforcement resources responded to the area and several individuals from the residence were detained. A firearm was also discovered in the vehicle.
