Two arrested after a search, narcotics found

LA GRANDE – (Information provided by Sheriff Boyd Rasmussen, Union County Sheriff’s Office)

On October 12, 2020, at about 6:33pm deputies stopped a vehicle being driven by Shawn Lee Presock (DOB 02/04/83) a transient of La Grande. Presock was known by deputies to have a warrant out for his arrest. The vehicle was also occupied by Angela Farrell Thamert (DOB 06/24/77) of Elgin who also had a warrant out for her arrest. 

During the investigation an Oregon State Police drug detection K-9 was deployed and alerted on the vehicle, a subsequent search of a bag located in the vehicle led to the seizure of Methamphetamine, Heroin, and a narcotic prescription pill. Shawn Lee Presock was booked into the Union County Jail on the charges of DCS Heroin, PCS Heroin, and a fugitive arrest warrant. 

Angela Farrell Thamert was booked into the Union County Jail on the charges of PCS Heroin, PCS Methamphetamine, PCS Oxycodone, and a fugitive arrest warrant. 

The Union County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Oregon State Police and La Grande Police Department.
