Two are injured in crash near Milton-Freewater

UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office reports that two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash at milepost 2 on Spofford Road just north of Walla Walla River Road Sunday. The call came in at 11:23 a.m.
Deputy Travis McMasters responded to the call involving the red Dodge 1500 truck. Upon arrival he found an adult man had been thrown from the vehicle and was not responsive. An adult female was trapped inside the vehicle with what UCSO described as “extensive injuries.”
First responders aided in extracting the woman from the vehicle. Both crash victims were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Walla Walla. The woman was later transported by Life Flight to a hospital in Spokane.
The man has been identified as Edgar Gonzalez Lara, 21, of Milton-Freewater. The woman’s identity was not released, and the sheriff’s office did not have an update on either of their medical conditions.
