Twelve Mile Fire burns 2.5 acres near Ritter

LONG CREEK – The Long Creek Fire Department, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, and Oregon Department of Forestry firefighting resources all responded to the report of a residential fire yesterday afternoon, near Ritter in Grant County.

Wildcad.net reports the Twelve Mile Fire burned in grass and timber about 13.3 miles north of Long Creek, and reached 2.5 acres before containment was achieved just after 10 p.m. Wednesday night. No information has come in regarding any residences or structures, stay posted for updates as they come in.

Another small fire was reported into John Day Interagency Dispatch yesterday. The Johnson Fire started about 12.4 miles south of Spray. It burned in sage and juniper and didn’t exceed a tenth of an acre before resources were able to get it contained.
