HARNEY COUNTY-Heads up for tumbleweed takedown!

The Burns Interagency Fire Zone is gearing up to toast tumbleweeds along a few fence lines in southern Harney County this week!

Did you know that tumble weeds are a noxious, invasive weed that disperses hundreds of seedlings with each turn? They are highly flammable and a huge wildfire hazard. They can interfere with agriculture and harm crops by drying out the soil and fostering pests and crop disease. They block daily movement routes for wildlife.
