LA GRANDE – The State Fire Marshall’s Office inspected and investigated a fire Monday morning at the Oregon Department of Transportation’s sign building in La Grande. It was determined that a suspended tube heater faulted which caused the fire in the attic of the building. According to Fire Chief Emmitt Cornford of the La Grande Fire Department he wasn’t sure if the building could be re-built, however the contents are mostly salvageable.
