Location: 14258 Sumpter Stage HWY, Baker City, Baker OR USA 97877

Narrative Summary:

OSP received a TIP involving the illegal harvest of a buck deer due to trespassing on private property along SR-7 and SR-410, Sumpter WMU. The involved were located in Sumpter and interviewed. The investigation revealed Subject 1 shot a buck deer from SR-7. Shortly 

thereafter, Subjects 1 & 2 trespassed onto private property and recovered the buck deer. Subject 2 lent his big game tag and tagged the buck deer for Subject 1. Subject 1 was cited and released for Hunting from or Across Highway, Lend, Borrow or Sell Big Game Tag and Criminal Trespass II. Subject 2 was cited and released for Lend, Borrow, or Sell Big Game Tag and Criminal Trespass II. The buck deer and firearm were seized as evidence. The buck deer was released to an ODFW meat processor for charity distribution.
