JOHN DAY – CASA of Eastern Oregon will be holding a virtual advocate training on April 5th. Training and Operations Coordinator Wendy Simer was recently on KJDY’s Coffee Time, and explained how locals interested in advocating for children in care can do so:
“We have an ‘info@casaeo.org’ that they can send an email to, and then we can get them to the application process. Then, they would be interviewed by the local Program Manager. Once that happens, they’ll be ready to go.
We do some background checks as we get started with training, and then we just get them set up—get a notebook to them and get ready to start that process.”
Grant-Harney County CASA recently conglomerated with CASA of Eastern Oregon, and locals interested in learning more can log on to www.casaeo.org.
