Traffic stop near Sisters leads to fentanyl seizure and arrest of Bend resident

DESCHUTES COUNTY-A month-long narcotics investigation culminated in the late-night arrest of a Bend resident on Wednesday after law enforcement intercepted a commercial quantity of fentanyl during a traffic stop near Sisters.
According to the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team, detectives spent August investigating 46-year-old Jeremy Scott Boggs under suspicion that he was trafficking illegal narcotics in the region. During the probe, investigators learned that Boggs had been making trips to the Portland area to procure fentanyl.
At approximately 11:00 p.m. on Aug. 26, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office executed a traffic stop on Boggs, who was riding a Honda motorcycle near the intersection of U.S. Highway 20 and Indian Ford Road.
During the interaction, Boggs provided a false name to the deputy in an attempt to hide his identity. Officers quickly verified his real name, discovering he had an outstanding felony warrant for a parole violation. A search conducted during the stop revealed that Boggs was carrying a commercial quantity of fentanyl.
Boggs was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Deschutes County Jail. He faces charges of:
Delivery of a Controlled Substance II
Possession of a Controlled Substance II
Giving False Information to a Police Officer
Parole Violation
