Grant County evacuation area expanded for Battle Mountain Complex

DALE, OR – UPDATE – 7/19 at 10:30 p.m. – (From Grant County Emergency Management)

Monkey Creek Fire and Snake Fires Evacuation Notifications – Grant County
Due to fire activity in the northern county, the following areas have new evacuation notices:

  • The Dale Level 3 Evacuation Area for has been expanded approximately 3 miles Northeast.
  • A Level 2 Evacuation Notice has been issued for everything northeast of the Middle Fork and
    North Fork River confluence extending to the Ritter Road/Constant Road intersection and
    continuing East to Desolation Creek past 395.
  • A Level 1 Evacuation Notice has been issued for the community of Ritter and everything north of
    the Middle Fork extending to 395.

UPDATE – 7/19 at 1:27 p.m. – The town of Dale is to leave immediately, as fire danger is pertinent. Evacuate south on U.S. 395-B. The Red Cross Emergency Evacuation Shelter, located at Grant Union High School in John Day is prepared to take evacuees.

PREVIOUS UPDATES: 7/19 at 12:30 – The Red Cross Emergency Evacuation Shelter, located in John Day at Grant Union High School can accommodate evacuees from any of the fires within Grant County evacuation zones.

Snake Fire Evacuation notifications – Grant County
UPDATE: The Snake Fire in Southern Umatilla County is near the Grant County line. In cooperation
with Umatilla County Emergency Management, the town of Dale has been upgraded to Level 2, be set advisory.
