Town hall meeting on policing is set for tonight

WALLA WALLA – Officials from the city of Walla Walla and members of the Chief’s Advisory Committee will host a town hall meeting tonight (Wednesday) from 6:30-8 p.m.

Topics include updates on the Walla Walla Police Department’s activities over the past year; the committee’s short-, mid-, and long-term plans; and progress of the committee’s Differential Response Work Group.

A panel consisting of Walla Walla Police Chief Scott Bieber, City Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem Steve Moss, and committee member Noah Leavitt will present information and answer questions submitted ahead of time by members of the public. 

State Rep. Skyler Rude (R-Walla Walla) will provide an update on the law enforcement-related legislation that was passed during this year’s legislative session.  If time allows, meeting attendees will have an opportunity to ask additional questions of the panelists and other committee members.
