BAKER CITY – (Release from Saint Alphonsus) Tony Swart, Director of Finance for Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Baker City and the Saint Alphonsus Medical Group, has been named to a new role as Vice President of Operations and Finance for Saint Alphonsus – Eastern Oregon.
Swart joined Saint Alphonsus in 2007 as a Pharmacy Technician and moved quickly to the role of Pharmacy Buyer. In 2012, he transferred to Supply Chain as a System Administrator and Process Improvement Specialist.
Upon completion of an MBA in 2015, he transitioned into healthcare finance, and left Saint Alphonsus for a few years to work for St. Luke’s as a Financial Analyst between 2015- 2018. In 2018, Tony returned to Saint Alphonsus as a Senior Financial Analysist at SAMC – Nampa. In 2019, he was promoted to his current role of Finance Director in Baker City where he later assumed financial responsibilities for the Baker City Medical Group clinics in 2021.
“Tony has effectively led the partnership work with the YMCA and the Baker County School District for development of the Early Childhood and Daycare Center, provided executive support for development of outpatient cardiology, pediatric rehabilitation services, and advancement of the swing bed program,” said Dina Ellwanger, President, Saint Alphonsus – Eastern Oregon. “He is passionate about growth, development, economic sustainability, and ensuring access to healthcare services in Eastern Oregon,” Ellwanger added.
Swart has also served as the executive lead for the current Master Facility Plan and has led many successful capital and recruitment efforts for SAMC – Baker City. He earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northwest Nazarene University where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration and General Management and his MBA.
